American Society of Civil Engineers

The Surveying team is a student-run group that provides an opportunity for students to increase their knowledge and understanding of land surveying techniques through hands on experience outside of the classroom. Students have the opportunity to work with surveying equipment including a level, theodolite, and total station. The team also strives to help members acquire knowledge about land surveying concepts covered on both the EIT and PE exams. Members also have the opportunity to apply their surveying abilities by competing at the annual Pacific South West Conference against other top universities in the region. Without a surveying course at UCLA, the ASCE surveying team is a great opportunity for students to develop skills regarding land surveying that are essential for all civil engineers.
